Research projects:

Synthesis of a library of compounds using structure-based design approaches, aimed at the development of next-generation drugs for patient with advanced Gastrointestinal Stromal tumors (GIST). Design of new inhibitors capable of inactivating mutations of stem cell growth factor receptor (KIT) and commonly platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRα), responsible for mainly driving tumor lesions.

 

Earlier positions:

  • Student at Sapienza School for Advanced Studies (SSAS); this highly-qualified training pathway complements curricular courses with advanced courses and activities of a disciplinary and interdisciplinary nature.

  • Integrated Master's Thesis in the group of Prof. Francesca Leonelli, Department of Chemistry, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy on the synthesis and characterization of Carbon NanoDots conjugated with eugenol for antifungal and antimicrobial applications.

  • Internship position in the group of Prof. Alice Balfourier, LBM Laboratory, Ècole Normale Superieure, Paris, on the design of new chelators to trap metal ions in within cells during chemical fixation and permeabilization.
